December Events from Performance Works NW & other Portland artists & groups
November 29, 2007 — lindapaustin | :: Dec. 15 | ScratchPDX
Hey all,
Just a quick note to say thanks to those who were part of the sell-out crowd at November’s ScratchPDX, the opener of our new season. The season got off to a great start with seven dazzling and challenging performances from up-and-coming artists in Portland. Check out the website www.scratchpdx.com to see pictures and details of the line-up.
We are gathering pace for the second show (Dec 15th), and already all the slots are filled! However if you are interested in performing at Scratch, we are currently looking for pieces for our January and February shows, so drop us an email at contact@scratchpdx.com with your rough idea. Please include type of performance, number of participants and estimated length.
In case you don’t know, ScratchPDX aims: (more after jump)
# to support performance by creating an open and accessible atmosphere in which experimentation is encouraged.
# to promote artists by providing them with a public platform to show work and continuing to expand our audience base.
# to facilitate dialogue and collaboration between artists in the spirit of collective development and mutual benefit.
#to deepen understanding of performance, creative processes and the audience/performer relationship through feedback and conversation about work.
It’s also a really fun night with plenty of opportunities to socialize in a great atmosphere at Hipbone Studio (1847 E Burnside). If you are thinking of proposing something but you’ve never been to the show before, we recommend coming down to check it out in December, so you can get a feel for it and maybe even talk to us about your idea. We’d love to meet you!
