This January starts the 4th series of Scene at the Library. Local theatre troupes present sneak previews of upcoming plays. See a scene, explore the background and inspirations of a work and chat with local theatre groups. These will be happening select Sundays, January-March, at various locations. Our series kicks off Sunday, January 6th with two previews:
At Central Library at 1pm, CoHo Productions presents a preview of Tales of Ordinary Madness, a wild and absurdist play about Petr, a twenty-something urban slacker in contemporary Prague who is surrounded by madness. This play offers an extraordinary glimpse into the ordinary absurdity of 21st century life.
At Hollywood Library at 2pm, Portland Story Theater presents a preview of Shackleton’s
Antarctic Nightmare, the true and tragic tale of the British Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914.
We will also have previews from defunkt theatre, Miracle Theatre Group, Readers Theatre Repertory, Theatre Vertigo, Integrity Productions, Staged PDX, Profile Theatre, and Fever Theater.
