I had breakfast with Bryan of UrbanDrinks yesterday and he showed me something that might change your life. For those of you who use an iGoogle homepage (and the rest of you who will–you can only resist them so long), UrbanDrinks has created a Portland happy-hour Google “gadget”.
Go here to get the widget (I mean gadget).
As you can see in the screen-grab, there is an arrow on the top right of the gadget. Click this to edit your preferences. You can modify the timeframe (either right now or today), search radius, number of happy hours to display, the order by which to sort the results, and the direction to sort. Ha–look how close I live to the “lounges” of both Bonfire and Goodfoot (jealous much?).
Oh, and according to Bryan, soon you’ll be able to choose which types of happy hours you’re looking for. Nice…using technology for good. That, apparently, is the the UrbanDrinks way.
Lastly, a note to UrbanDrinks (and you). According to Allison’s PSA back in June and verified by myself, Bonfire’s Happy Hour now begins at 2PM with some great food deals.
