I haven’t studied the laws of physics in a while, but I am sure Chris Haberman (and Jason Brown) is defying them be being in and curating so many shows in one weekend. If you see him at this show, make sure it is not some kind of Haberman-double or a hologram. Crazy…we could probably run the power grid off of his energy and reduce foreign oil consumption…you listening Barack?

From Chris Haberman:

THE BIG 100: 100 artists complete 10 works (8″x8″) on recycled wood (which we provide) in a 10 day period. All works are then showcased together in a one night show, no titles of works, no visible names, just 100 artists together at once. 8″ works are sold for $30 each ($20-artist/$10-charity/curator).
THE RECEPTION: First Friday, December 5th (6pm – 11pm) at Olympic Mills Commerce Center, a 24,000 sq ft open public gallery. Free beer, etc., artists are also encouraged to bring food for a potluck,. Cards will be available for the show by next week, as well as an email invite.
All sales are final at this show and all artists will be paid in one week of the show closing. ALL REMAINING WORK must be picked up on December 11th, between 10am -7pm at Olympic Mills Commerce Center (107 SE Washington).
CHARITIES: This show is in conjunction with (2) charitible organizations, which will in turn recieve a portion of the proceeds of this show. The first is the Oregon Food Bank, which is down for donations this year and they are pretty nice and need help. The second is Puddletown (a school like Headstart, which holds an annual art auction). This year, Puddletown, in conjunction with THE BIG 100, will hold its own event the same night in their own space at Olympic Mills. Both events are public and will be open to everyone. So..two shows, one night, 2 curators, 100 artists, tons of art. The PuddleTown Art Auction is curated and managed by our hero, Jason Brown. www.puddletownschool.com
