Sarah’s Opening (not that one, perv)

The Mayor of Belmont has written in about tonight’s art show at Stumptown mentioned in the previous post.
Sarah P Stumptown Art Show

Julian,

Portland-based illustrator Sarah Peters is having an art opening tonight at Stumptown Downtown (128 SW 3rd Ave.). Her moody and precise line illustrations of sinking ships, crisscrossed power lines, and nude women in compromising poses have been visual darlings of mine for years. Sarah is an inkwell dynamo, and it’s worth your time to swing by and check out her work. I’m not just saying that because she’s my roommate, or because she buys the toilet paper. I’m saying it because it’s true. Opening is from 6pm to 8pm. Bring an attractive friend.

Sincerely,
Simon G.

Jan 3: First Thursdays at Stumptown with My Arch-Nemesis

I was just informed that my Arch-Nemesis is having an art exhibit at Stumptown Downtown tonight (6-8PMish I believe) . More details about this developing story are coming later from the M.O.B.

Sarah, arch-nemisis of Julian Chadwick

Dante’s Inferno Goes Non-Smoking One Year Before Portland Ban

Ok, They haven’t quite gone fully non-smoking, but I am sure this will have some “domino effect” on other Portland Music Venues. From Dante’s Live/Inferno:

Dante’s Non-Smoking Policy Effective January 1st 2008

As of the January 1st, 2008 the main room of Dante’s will be a smoke-free area.
The smaller side known as the Limbo Lounge and the balcony will still be
smoking areas until 1/1/2009.

The Portland City Council voted to make all bars, restaurants, and music
venues non-smoking as of 1/1/2009 but we are chose to begin implementing
this change a full year ahead of the smoking ban in response to our own
market research and input from staff, artists and guests.

We look forward to continuing to welcome our smoking and non-smoking guests
with this new change and wish everybody the best over the holiday season
and the New Year.

Dec 5 Reminder: “Costumes, Drinks, drawing and debauchery” at Dante’s Inferno

*Edit: Message from Nicki about the event after the jump*

From Earlier Post:

Dec 5: Draw Pictures of (or just look at) Hot Cabaret Models at Dante’s–”When Cabaret Meets Art School”

Dr Sketchy's show at Dante's Inferno, Portland, Oregon

I was told by MJ/Mirage (rumor has it she will be wearing a pink candy theme outfit) about this event Wednesday. You pay a little cash (goes to models), bring your sketchbook, and draw pictures of cabaret models. Apparently, it is done by “London” of Suicide Girl fame. I wonder how one could possibly get class credit for this….hey AiPD, start working on that

From Dr Sketchy’s Myspace page (we might call this page NSFW is you work in one of those environments):

Dr Sketchy's show at Dante's Inferno, Portland, Oregon

As seen in Willamette Weeks “Best Of Portland”!
Featuring beautiful boy and girl models! ~Costumes!~ Drinks, drawing and debauchery! ~ Contests and Prizes! ~ Music and food!
Every Wednesday 7pm Dantes on SW 3rd & Burnside
$6, $4 students w ID
Stay for Xotica GoGo afterward!

Daily Stank Image Bank: Portland Halloween 2007

It’s been a little over ten days since Halloween ended, Portland’s new official Christmas. I took these pics the day before and day of Halloween.
Officer Dangle, Halloween, SE Morrison St, Portland, Or, 97214
* Two are at Jax Bar on SW 2nd and Yamhill.
* Two are as I was walking over the Morrison Bridge (google 23 minutes guy).
* Two are outside a haunted house on SE 28th between Burnside and Stark, just south of Esparza’s.
* Many are from Crush Bar on SE 14th and Morrison.
* Many more are from Aalto Lounge on SE 34th and Belmont. Three of these show Jake getting grabbed and thrown into the sink of Aalto. Jake is in Caves, and they have a new album…also here is a review of them by the Mayor of Belmont who cried when I asked him what he did on Halloween (he was not on Belmont). :(

Fadzie at Aalto Lounge, SE Belmont St, Portland, Oregon, 97214, halloween

**Also, I was hanging out with Fadzie that night. Many pictures therefore show her posing (she likes to pose) with various costumed men and dancing with a couple different women. Oh, and Bono kissing her on the cheek while making the “stop-short” move.

Good Times were had by all on Portland’s Christmas. You can view the set and slideshow on Flickr by clicking here or going below the “read more” tab and clicking on the thumbnails.
