Blackbird Presents…
Black Dice is a noise rock/experimental band based in Brooklyn, New
York, USA. They formed in Spring 1997 at the Rhode Island School of
Design and are currently signed to Paw Tracks. The group began as a
harsh, noisy thrash outift, with a sound far different from the more
psychedelic leanings of the last few albums. The release of Broken
Ear Record in 2005 and Manoman in 2006 saw the band innovating once
again, incorporating elements of Afrobeat and breakbeat into their
releases.

Blackbird Presents…
Are you ready to fall in love with the B-52s of Cambodian pop? If that’s not a question you thought you’d ever be asked, then you’ve missed out on the infectious multicultural dance music of Dengue Fever. So named for a disease that their organist contracted in Cambodia, the Los Angeles-based band is composed of Americans with the exception of Cambodian singer Ch’hom Nimol, who provides lovely vocals (usually in her language of Khmer) and even lovelier mod dance moves. Nimol was a successful pop star in her home country, performing for the royal family on several occasions. Upon recruiting her in 2002, Dengue Fever knew that she was the perfect person to give them a Cambodian voice. Dengue Fever has captivated audiences all along the coast with their unique sound, which sends “world music” crashing straight into 60s psychedelic pop.
