Novmber 4: The Barfly Nominees are in and The Award Show is Today at Mt. Tabor Legacy

This is an invite-only event. Normally, I would not post invite-only here, but it was already on the Barfly website, and hey–you might know one of these people and possibly mooch one of their VIP tix…I mean, congratulate them. And why am I not up for “Most Good Writer”–sounds like it was written specifically for my illiteracy (rhyming on-timing!). 

My lovely fall sickness seems to be nearly gone (the contagion is for sure), so I’m going to do my best to get out there tonight as several of these people are friends of mine (Atom 13, Malice, Chris Haberman, Phil Ragaway, William Slater - “hottest item not on the menu”= ha!). If so, expect some good pictures this coming week.

Mayor Tom Potter with Miss Gay Oregon tonight at Fez Ballroom

Mayor Tom Potter will be the first to welcome the guests of the Miss Gay Oregon America pageant to the Rose City.

MGOA is the official preliminary to the Miss Gay America pageantry system, seeking excellence in the art and competition of female impersonation.

“I am proud to welcome the Miss Gay America Pageant to Portland. The LGBTQ community is alive and strong in Portland and adds greatly to our rich cultural diversity” said Potter. “I am looking forward to a fun event.”

This is the first year Oregon will host the pageant. It is slated for July 15 at 7 p.m.

What is Miss Gay America?
The Miss Gay America (MGA) pageantry system is a female impersonation pageantry system. Contestants must be male, at least twenty-one (21) years old and can not have or be on any type of hormone. Absolutely no breast implants, cosmetic or body enhancing implants below the neck or silicone (or any other similar type product-chemical) injections, excluding the face, will be allowed before or during the contestant’s reign.
